Jurassic: The Hunted Walkthrough - Complete Game Guide (2024)

Welcome to the walkthrough for Jurassic: The Hunted.

To gain all of the achievements we will be playing through this game twice; once on easy and once on hard.

Hide ads

We'll play the first playthrough on normal and we will be gaining all of the achievements except for two. After this playthrough we will go through the level select to finish up some achievements before moving on to our second playthrough. We will get all of the 0 point achievements in this playthrough as well and feel free to die as much as you need because we're completing the game without dying in the next playthrough.

Secondly, we will playthrough on hard. This isn't really much harder especially because we will have the plasma rifle which helps a lot against the regular dinosaurs you will be fighting. The exception is for Spike who it really isn't effective on. Furthermore, if you die, that is OK because we can go through the level select and replay the levels we died on. Lastly, you will need to do this playthrough in one sitting. The achievement for completing the game on hard is buggy and may not unlock after just completing the story on hard. From my readings I have gathered that you need to do this in one sitting and if the achievement doesn't unlock at the end, you will need to replay either the first or last level.

Good luck!

There aren't really many general hints I can give you for this game, but I'll give you my best even if they are quite simple.

Firstly, if you find yourself hurt and in trouble, use you adrenaline burst to slow things down and give you a breather.

Secondly, weapon wise, for most of the game you should be using the shotgun and the 5.56 assault rifle as these are the best weapons in the game. On the second to last level you will get the Semi-auto shotgun which you can substitute for your current shotgun. On Hard difficulty you will just use the plasma rifle mostly.

Thirdly, if you come across any weapons upgrades, although this goes without saying, put them on the guns you are going to be using (i.e. the shotgun) as they can help out, especially since the shotgun takes awhile to reload.

Lastly, if you find yourself in trouble and low on your ammo clip, you can just change weapons and use a backup weapon to finish off the dinos then reload afterwards. This will save you from being unable to attack while you reload your weapon.

Thats really all I got, Good luck!

Now, what you need to do is start a new game (there is no option for Hard mode until you beat Normal mode) and skip the cutscenes (unless you actually want to pay attention to the story). Firstly, I'll tell you that you need to get a kill with every weapon in the game. There are only a few weapons that you can pick up at one certain point in the game. I will list them as we play through.

Level 1:

When you first gain control of your character, continue with the tutorial until you have to stand up after crouching. When you do so, you should see a plant with a red thing on it. Keep running into said plant until you die:

Allergic Reaction

Killed by thorny plants.

Then, moving forward with the level, wait until you see your first little dinosaur. How cute. Now, let it pounce on you and do not execute the Quick-Time Event; instead, let it kill you.

Clever Girl

Died in a Raptor Melee QTE.

With the little Dino's, try to melee them to kill them. This will work toward an achievement which we can easily finish after the playthrough through level select, but it's better to get some early.

Then, after the bouts of death are over, continue with the level. When you are introduced to your friend, Adrenaline Burst, kill a dinosaur while using it.

Woah

Killed 1 dinosaur during an Adrenaline Burst.

Then, finish the level. You will unlock:

Level 2:

In this level you will do your first stationary weapon part. After this, when approaching the ship, you will find the model 1855 shotgun right at the base of the ship before you get on. You will need to get one kill with it, but this gun isn't very good.

When you pick up your first batch of grenades, fairly early in the level, look at the wall of rocks you need to blow up. Three small dinosaurs will hop over. Be sure to chuck a quick grenade at them for an achievement. Also note that there is an achievement for killing 20 Dino's with grenades. I got this through regular story progression just using grenades whenever I had them to kill some Dino's, especially at the fortification parts. I'm listing the achievement here because you can easily do this while playing through naturally.

Pack Hunting

Killed 3 Raptors with one grenade.

If you do not get the 3 kill achievement here that's fine, you can easily get it later in the game.

Now, while going through the level, make sure to kill everyone with adrenaline burst, or however many you can. At the end of the level, you will come across a fortification objective. In this fortification objective, keep rotating through the different entrance points, killing the dinosaurs and repairing the fortification. We are trying to not let any Dino's in for an achievement. Once the fortification is over, before you go to the door, repair all of the windows completely for another achievement.

Preparing for the Future

Repaired all broken entrances before unlocking the gate.

Level 3:

There is nothing else you can do this level, except keep working on your adrenaline kills. Level 4 is where the real fun begins. You also get the shotgun which is a big help.

Level 4:

When you come upon your second fortification objective, fairly early into the level, after blowing up the boulders, there is an ammo box and a weapon crate with a 5.56 assault rifle. Crouch between the weapons crate and the big ammo box. None of the dinosaurs will be able to hurt you and you can easily get the achievement for not repairing any windows in a fortification point.

Level 5:

Along the way in this level, you will find some fire or lava, just run into it and kill yourself for an achievement.

Die in a Fire

Also in this level, when you're going across the islands over top of the lava, you will jump to an island and a box will appear. In this box is the Black Powder sniper rifle which is awful, but you need a kill with it for the Gunman achievement. This is the level I unlocked the achievement for killing 100 Deinonychus. You will get this here or later on depending on you.

Raptor Extinction

Killed 100 Deinonychus.

Level 6:

No achievements to be earned here — just play through it. In this level will be the first appearance of the crossbow, but you can pick it up later in the game as well.

Level 7:

You will easily find the LMG in this level to spray down some Pterodactyls.

Just at the start of the level, you will come across a bridge. There will be many Pterodactyls around on this level. Kill as many as possible because you will need to kill 50 of them in this level, but you can come back and finish it off as well. In addition, if you throw a grenade slightly above the bridge when they are flying at you, you can kill one with a grenade for another achievement.

Level 8:

This part can be a bit frustrating, but I've got a tip that can help considerably: MOST OF THE PTERODACTYLS THAT COME FROM THE LEFT SIDE WON'T ACTUALLY HIT YOU. When the Pterodactyls are attacking you, focus on the ones coming from the middle and the right side because you can pretty much completely ignore the ones coming from the left side. Use short, controlled bursts to take down the T-Rex's and aim for where you expect the heart would be. By this time you will have definitely killed 50 Dino's with stationary weapons so I'll add that here:

I'm the King

Killed a Tyrannosaurus.

Level 9:

This level introduces the exploding mushrooms. The first will be directly in front of you, it is the blobby thing with tentacles coming out of it. You will need to run into a couple of these and kill yourself for an achievement.

Mari-Ouch

Killed yourself with an exploding mushroom.

Next, right at the beginning with the introduction of scorpions, shoot them a few times without killing them, then get one to run over top of an exploding mushroom and then shoot the mushroom to kill the scorpion for an achievement.

Now continue through the level, shooting as many exploding mushrooms as possible. This will be done for an achievement later. Part way through this level you'll get teleported randomly to a place where there is a bunch of small Raptors. This is where I unlocked the achievement for killing 50 Raptors with one shot, and the achievement for killing 50 Velociraptors.

Dinomite!

Later in this level you will mow down some scorpions with the stationary machine gun, and after that you will be teleported to a room with a bunch of scorpions. By this time you should have killed 50 scorpions for another achievement.

Scorpion King

Killed 50 Scorpions.

Level 10:

When the herd of 2 or 3 moderate-sized dinosaurs run past you, go in their direction and you will find a weapons crate with the RPG. Pick this up for later. There is nothing else you can really do in this level.

Level 11:

This is where you fight Spike. My advice for defeating him is to use the RPG but be careful because when he gets close you can accidentally blow yourself up. If he picks you up, switch to your shotgun and blast him until he throws you away and then return to RPG'ing him. I went back and forth between the two weapons crates to refill ammo. After you beat this level you will get an achievement:

What a Prick

Survived a Spinosaurus attack.

Level 12:

There is nothing special about this level — just get through it.

Level 13:

At the beginning of the level, near the wrecked ship from which you are stealing the battery, there will be an automatic shotgun which you will need for the Gunman achievement. I switched my regular shotgun for it because it is a better replacement.

Gunman

Killed a dinosaur using each weapon.

Later in the level you will be going through some caves and you will face 2 groups of Velociraptors. After these groups and right before the end of the level, you will face a group of scorpions. Here you need to kill 5 scorpions with one RPG round for an achievement:

Crispy Critters

Killed 5 Scorpions with the RPG.

Level 14:

For this level, my advice is to go up the ramp to the top and just unload automatic shotgun rounds on Spike. You don't even have to aim, you can hip fire. When he sticks his head up at you, just stand to the side and blast away. Keep refilling up on ammo and this shouldn't be hard.

Life Will Find a Way

Completed the game.

Now that we have completed the game, we will wrap up some achievements through the level selection. If you happened to have missed any of the above, get it now.

I had to replay level 9 to get the achievement for destroying 50 exploding mushrooms. Throughout the game I had gotten 47 and I only needed 3 for the achievement. Once the achievement is unlocked, you can just exit out and go to the level select again for further achievements you need.

Plumber Stomachache

The other achievement I needed was the achievement for killing 20 Dino's with melee attacks. I replayed level 1 for this. You have to finish the level for the stats to be added just in case you have to play through it twice for the achievement. You can reload the first level after you reach the point where you can see the herd of dinosaurs and he points out the ship.

Now it's time to start a new game on Hard. Let it be known that the achievement for completing the game on hard is buggy and it is highly recommended to do the whole thing in one sitting. Also, we will be getting the achievement for not dying in this playthrough. If you die, do not worry, we can go back through the level select and redo the levels that we died on. When I did this, I had about 6 levels that I died on and had to replay.

On the first level, near the fallen body which you need to examine and the character says something about the bones being very old, there is a plasma rifle on the ground which will make your life MUCH easier. Now just play through the game.

Fortifications: Stand near the ammo box and utilize grenades and the plasma rifle to take out the Dino's.

T-Rex: Use the tip I wrote above about shooting the Pterodactyls on the middle and right side. You can also use the adrenaline to get a couple of extra shots in on the T-Rex and prevent him from biting you, but if you shoot him quick enough when he's walking over you won't have to. You can also use adrenaline if you're being overwhelmed by Pterodactyls.

Spike battle 1: Have a completely loaded shotgun just in case he picks you up. When facing, go back and forth between ammo boxes using your RPG and grenades to hurt him. He will get stunned and stand on his back legs every once in a while. Blast an RPG at his body which can deal out some good damage. The plasma rifle doesn't help much against him.

Spike final battle: The method above works perfect on this difficulty. Just go to the top and use your automatic shotgun to just blast away and it will do massive amounts of damage. Once it is difficult for you to shoot out of the window closest to the ammo box, go across to the other side where it is completely open and just hip-fire away.

Once you complete the game on Hard, the achievement may or may not unlock. Make sure to physically check your achievements because it actually didn't pop-up on my screen. If it didn't unlock for you, replay the first level on hard. If it still hasn't unlocked for you, replay the last level on hard. This is buggy and there is no clear method for popping this achievement, so this may take some messing around with this game on your part.

Hard as Nails

Completed the game on the Hard difficulty.

Now at the level select, the missions you died on are marked in the bottom left corner with a skull. You will have to replay these missions without dying to get the last achievement.
